Crystal Pond at Camp Nahaco

Camp Nahaco Park Commission

Mission

The mission of the Camp Nahaco Park Commission is to maintain Camp Nahaco and its facilities for use by the townspeople of Eastford and Woodstock.  We are committed to  protecting and preserving the natural beauty Camp Nahaco affords, improving the facilities to meet the public’s needs and managing the day to day operations to allow financial stability, guaranteeing the public’s enjoyment for generations to come. Also ee the Woodstock Conservation Commission webpage on Camp Nahaco

The Commission dedicates itself to the community by providing to them:

  • Social Benefits so the Park may serve as a site to bring families and communities together to enjoy recreational and leisure activities;
  • Environmental Benefits that will protect and preserve the natural ecosystems within the Park boundaries;
  • Educational Benefits for individuals, schools and other learning- focused groups so they may use the Park and facilities as a natural, outdoor learning environment;
  • Historical Benefits so they may appreciate the history of the Park and its evolution into a community resource to be enjoyed by all; and the
  • Economic Benefits by developing and managing the Park in so far as possible as a financially self-supporting asset, and encouraging appropriate use by entities that appreciate the heretofore outlined benefits so that financial independence may be achieved.

The park is available for use by Eastford and Woodstock residents.  In the summer, a Day Camp provides a structured program of traditional indoor and outdoor activities. Please call (860) 974-3516 or email daycampatcrystalpond@charter.net for more information about Day Camp.
