The Flood and Erosion Control Board was established in 1992, pursuant to section 25-84 of the General Statutes, as amended. The Board is composed, by Town Ordinance, of five (5) members, specifically; the entire Board of Selectmen, the Chairman of the Conservation Commission, and the Chairman of the Inland Wetland and Watercourses Commission. The exposed areas under consideration of the state statute requiring this Board are primarily oceans, bays, inlets, coves, and other land subject to storm waves.
The full Flood Erosion Control Board meets only as needed, usually on the dates noted on calendar, at times noted on calendar. See the Town Government Calendar on the Home page for upcoming meetings. Special Subcommittee meetings are scheduled as needed. Agendas and minutes are available at the Town Hall and on this website. Meetings are open to the public.
