About

New Roxbury Village in Woodstock CT

Woodstock Housing Authority

Mission

The Woodstock Housing Authority provides low income, senior citizen housing at New Roxbury Village at 60 Butts Road. It is a complex of 24 units in 6 buildings in an attractive rural setting on a quiet road. This not an assisted living situation, therefore, we have no on-site personal services.   A local Transit District bus is available on a call-ahead basis but unfortunately, there is no public transportation in Woodstock.

In 2007, upgrades were accomplished through a Grant from the State of Connecticut. We are now able to have two complete ADA approved units (both occupied at present), a new security system and upgrades to our 40-year-old buildings. We were able to replace all the tubs with walk-in showers (with seats), new lever door handles and higher toilets for all units. Although safety is our top priority, we were able to replace the dated counter tops, stove fans and wallpaper for a more modern look as well.

Contrary to popular belief, the New Roxbury Village Housing, although "owned" by the Town of Woodstock with members appointed by the Selectmen, receives NO funds from the town of Woodstock, State of CT or Federal programs to aid in the administration of this complex. Tenant rental income, based on the tenant’s income, is our only source of support. Tenants must be 62 years or older or disabled in order to qualify for housing at New Roxbury Village. When there is an opening, prospective tenants are screened for other eligibility requirements on a first come-first served basis.  A Rental Application may be downloaded from this site and sent to the Woodstock Housing Authority Management Office at 60 Butts Road, Woodstock, CT 06281.  See the "News" tab for downloading instructions.

Meeting Schedule

The full Woodstock Housing Authority meets monthly, usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. (Note: meetings are cancelled if there is no particular business to be transacted.)  See the Town Government Calendar on the Home page for upcoming meetings.  Special Subcommittee meetings are scheduled as needed. Agendas and minutes are available at the Town Hall and on this website. Meetings are open to the public.
