Facts and Figures

Pole-Bridge-1z.jpgThe Highway Facility utilizes a computer software system called RSMS. This system is for pavement evaluation and allows us to score our roads. This information is then used to make needed repairs to the town roads.

The Highway Department also inspects drainage, cross-pipes and culverts on the roads to determine their condition. In 2006, the Highway Department used a new product on town roads called crumb rubberized chip-seal. This product has recycled car and truck tires in the asphalt oil mix. The Highway Department is working towards being more environmentally friendly.
