Bulletin Board

As printed in the May 8, 2013 Hartford Business:  The towns of Woodstock, Scotland, and Hampton each joined Connecticut's Clean Energy Communities program.

The program challenges each municipality to reduce government building energy consumption by 20 percent and purchase 20 percent of its electricity needs from renewable power, all by 2018. More than 40 of the state's 169 communities have joined the program.

The Town of Woodstock and the Green Energy Commission has been recognized by the Connecticut Energy Finance & Investment Authority (CEFIA) and Environmental Protection Agency for their exemplary green power procurement by exceeding their commitment in purchasing 100% clean renewable energy. Additionally, Woodstock is also the only town in the state to have installed Solar Photo Voltaic systems at every municipal facility. As the only town in the State of Connecticut to achieve this, without any additional cost to the taxpayers, Woodstock has set an example for others to follow in their commitment to protect our environment for the generations that follow.
