Road closure Updates:

Update as of 8/23 at 3:15 pm:

From the Town of Woodstock CT Emergency Management:

A big shout out to the town public works, fire departments, and Eversource for making major headway in clearing our blocked roads and tree on wire emergencies today. The following is currently what is left:

Closed Roads: 

546 Route 169 - currently being worked on

42 Camp Road - currently being worked on

188 Sherman Road - currently being worked on

55 Old Turnpike Road - tree laying on the wires

1289 Route 171 - tree laying on the primaries

Update as of 8/23 am:

Route 169 is closed from just past Woodstock Orchards to the First Congregational Church.

Update as of 7:30 pm

Route 198 from 197 to Southbridge is now open.

Marcy Rd is now open.

Sherman Rd is closed.

Leavitt Rd is closed.

Crystal Pond Rd is now open.

Lake Rd is now open.

Route 197 in the area of 1580 is closed due to tree on wires road is completely blocked. Please avoid this area.

Marcy Road is closed at the intersection of Bungay Hill Road and Marcy. All access to houses needs to come from Route 197.

140 Coatney Hill Road tree on wires road blocked

90 Crystal Pond Road and Lake Road are blocked tree and wires involved lake road has no access and Crystal Pond is blocked.

29 Holmsea Court wire across road.

Update 5 pm:

635 Route 197 tree on wires. Road blocked.

546 Route 169 tree on wires. Road blocked.

99 Hawkins Road low wires/proceed with caution.

11 Spring Hill Road tree on wires/proceed with caution.

1166 Route 198 is impassable. Tree and wires across roadway.

54 Center School Road tree on wires

Lyon Road blocked at the intersection of Little Bungee & Hiawatha.

Camp Road Blocked at 198. Access from Bungay Hill Road to boat ramp only.

140 Coatney Hill Road. Tree on wires.

187 Stonebridge Road. Branch on primary.

49 Rawson Road. Tree on wires.

169 at Castle Rock. Branch on primary.

As Hurricane Henri approaches, please take precautions and prepare for possible long-term power outages.

We are continuously assessing the situation and are in contact with our Emergency Management team, Director of Public Works, Fire Department chiefs, and more. The Town Hall will be available if needed for a cooling center, charging station, etc.

Call the Highway Department at 860-974-0330 to report downed trees without wires. Call Eversource at 1-800-286-2000 to report loss of power, wires down, and trees down with wires.
