Congratulations to John Navarro on Retirement

John Navarro retired as Director of Public Works for the Town of Woodstock on November 8th, 2023. John has worked for the town since 1993 and has served as the Highway Foreman for the last fifteen years.

Navarro has been instrumental in maintaining approximately 100 miles of Woodstock roads, and was recently recognized in New England Construction for his use of pavement preservation techniques.

First Selectman Jay Swan announced, “Woodstock has been extremely fortunate to have John’s expertise available to us for 30+ years. He worked his way up from driver/laborer in 1993 to Highway Superintendent in 2008. John’s skills are varied and due to his experiences, has a wealth of knowledge, to share. When we need help on a specific problem, he can either solve it or knows exactly who to call. He and I consult daily and he’s always made himself available 24 hours a day. He’s one of the most dedicated employees I have ever met. I consider him a friend and wish him the very best in this new adventure of retirement”  

Assistant Foreman Jason Scranton is serving as the new Director of Public Works.
