The Registrar of Voters oversee a wide range of responsibilities, from preparing and certifying the official voting list, to ensuring we have fair, accurate and efficient elections. There are two Registrar of Voters, one from each major political party.  The office is governed by Connecticut General Statutes and financially supported by the town.   Contact the registrars if you have questions at (860) 928-6595 x339.  Office hours are Mondays from 9 am to 1 pm.

  • Online: If you have a CT driver’s license, register to vote online. Click this link: Online Voter Registration
  • In Person: Fill out a registration form at the registrar’s office or the town clerk’s office. The registrar’s office is open Mondays from 9 am until 1 pm.  Forms are also available at town libraries. Click here for a  Voter Registration Paper Form.
  • By Mail: Mail the completed Registration Form to the registrar’s office at Town of Woodstock, Attn: Registrar, 415 Route 169, Woodstock, CT  06281

Same-Day Registration
If you miss a registration deadline, Connecticut has Same-Day Registration (SDR).  Same-Day Registration is available during the Early Voting period and on Election Day. When you choose same-day registration, you are required to register and vote in-person the very same day. SDR is not available for referendums and primaries.

Where & how to vote for upcoming elections
  • Absentee Voting – An application is required to vote by absentee ballot. The Town Clerk issues absentee ballots.  Click here for Absentee Ballot details.
  • Early Voting allows you to vote in person safely and securely before Election Day. It will be held in the lower level of the Woodstock Town Hall. Click here for Early Voting locations, dates and hours.
  • Vote at the Polls on Election Day – Woodstock Middle School, 147B Route 169, Woodstock, CT 06281. The point of entrance may vary. Please look for signs or ask a constable for directions. Polls are open 6 am to 8 pm.  Note:  The April 28, 2026 Referendum will be held at Woodstock Town Hall (415 Route 169). Polls are open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Curbside Voting - Curbside voting is for voters who are temporarily incapacitated and cannot gain access into the polling place.  A ballot can be brought to you during early voting hours and all voting events. Please be patient, as staff helping with curbside voting may be very busy.  There are designated parking spaces, as well as handicap parking, reserved for curbside voting. When you arrive, wave to a constable or call the number on the sign if they are busy. You may need to call more than once if the polls are crowded.
