First Selectman Jay Swan announces with sadness and regret the recent resignation of Charlene Perkins-Cutler as Selectperson. Ms. Perkins-Cutler has served with distinction in that role since November 2021. The resignation is effective immediately due to personal reasons.

Prior to her election, Ms. Perkins-Cutler served as Executive Director of The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor and later as Executive Director of the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor in Rhode Island.

Swan stated, “It is with great sadness I share this information. Charlene was a colleague and also a friend. I admired that in all decisions and discussions her focus was always on what was best for ‘her town’  and its citizens. Her suggestions were respected and appreciated. She was a strong advocate for ambulance and fire services, as well as the preservation of open space.  She worked with Selectman Chandler Paquette and myself as a team for the betterment of Woodstock.”

The remaining members of the Board of Selectmen have a period of thirty days to appoint a person to fill the remainder of the term.
