Function and Services

The Town Planner has a wide range of responsibilities related to land use and community development. Some key functions incude:

• Create and update plans of conservation & development, zoning regulations, and subdivision regulations to guide growth and preserve community character.
• Process and make recommendations for special permits, site plans, subdivisions, zone changes, and amendments to land use regulations, ensuring compliance with state statutes and local regulations.
• Provide technical expertise on land use development, storm water management, inland wetlands, and other related issues to town officials, developers, and the public.
