Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots are issued by the Town Clerk’s office. Ballots are available to voters who are unable to vote in person on Election Day. Under Connecticut law, a voter does not need to provide a reason or "excuse" for their absentee ballot request.
- You will need to fill out an application first. Applications are available from the Town Clerk or the Secretary of State website. 2026 Absentee Ballot Application
- The Town Clerk will verify the application and then an absentee ballot will be issued.
- Once the elector completes the ballot, it is returned to the Town Clerk for delivery at the polls. There is strict accounting of all absentee ballot issued and returned.
- Voters with a permanent disability can apply for permanent absentee ballot status. A doctors certificate is required with your absentee ballot application. See the Town Clerk for more information.

- Register Online - (EASY!) Use the CT Online Voter Registration System to 1) Register to vote; 2) change your name or address on your current voter registration record; or 3) enroll or change your political party.
- Woodstock Registrar of Voters – Registrars manage voter registration and provide information to voters. Registration Forms are available from the registrars or online.
