The Town Clerk's office maintains records pertaining to property transactions in the Town of Woodstock such as deeds, mortgages, liens, maps, condominium  documents, easements and certain probate matters.

• Effective July 1, 2025 - CT Fees for Recording a Land Record Document & Property Foreclosure Registrations have changed (Public Act #25-168)
   
  • Recording Document: (excluding any document with a Nominee)
    $70 for first page $5 for each additional page
  • Recording Nominee Documents:
    $160 flat fee for Assignments & Release of Mortgages where the nominee is the Grantor
    $160 for first page and $5 for ea. additional page for all documents except nominee as Grantor of Assignments & Releases
  • NEW - Land Recording Fee Structures  (New fees must be paid for any document received by the Town Clerk on or after 7/1/2025)
     
• When recording a document with conveyance consideration, an additional $2.00 fee is charged to cover administrative costs for filing the forms with the State of Connecticut Revenue Department.
• The recording fee for a map is $20.00, Subdivisions are $30.00.
• Copies of land records are available for $1.00 per copy.
• There is a $2.00 fee to certify a copy of a document.
• There is a $10.00 fee for hand-held scanner usage.

• All fees and charges are set by State of Connecticut Statutes.
